Consultant in Sulaymania

Duration : Three months with possibility of extension

Under the overall supervision of die Regional Operational Center (ROC) based in Amman
and the direct Supervision of the Head of Regional Hub in Erbil and the Team Leader in
Sulaymania, the Consultant in Sulaymania Office will be responsible for the following
functions:
Background and General Functions:
• Providing information and initial counseling to returnees upon arrival;
• Counseling returnees on available reintegration opportunities;
• Assist the beneficiaries according to the selected services by using the appropriate
tool and methods. i.e. business plan, on the Job training, job placement and
vocational training;
• Assisting returnees in development reintegration projects and developing business
plan according to IOM standards and guidelines defined by projects' donors;
• Informing programme beneficiaries on requirements to gain access to the IOM
reintegration package;
• Assessing potential projects suggested by beneficiaries;
• Procure and logistic activities to purchase items for the beneficiaries according
the IOM standard procedures and methods;
• Monitoring of reintegration activities, including progress of approved
reintegration projects;
• Delivery services including in kind Grants to the beneficiaries according the IOM
methods and financial procedures;
• Keeping record and tracking accomplishment of reintegration projects;
• Collecting, preparing and sharing information concerning reintegration activities
with the Senior Programme Assistant and the Reintegration Unit of Regional
Operation Center in Amman;
• Monitoring reception, counseling and interviewing of beneficiaries;
• Performing any other duty as requested.
Qualifications required:
• University degree in Social Sciences, Public/Business Administration or
Languages;
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in project management or business
management (formal or informal) or community development work. Experience
with international organization is an advantage;
• Highly motivated with strong interest in the humanitarian work, dynamic and
energetic with strong personality to manage work pressure;
• Proficiency in oral and written English, Kurdish and Arabic is a must;
• Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, and drive for results;
• Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and
professional backgrounds;
• Good knowledge in word processing, typing skills, and experience in using
database.
Employment pre-requisites and conditions:
• The consultant shall be in possession of a computer and a personal vehicle and
shall be willing to travel all around Sulaymania governorate;
• The all-inclusive monthly remuneration is 2000 USD: this will cover any cost
incurred by the consultant for the performance of the above tasks (e.g. internet
fees, communication, fuel, stationary etc.). No other reimbursement shall be
claimed by the consultant;
• Payment of the salary will be subject to submission of a monthly report to be
approved by the Team Leader in Sulaymania and ROC in Amman;
• The consultant will be working mainly outside the IOM office or from home (no
office space will be assigned).
